My residency was very much marked by my mother’s passing. Among many things it meant I had to deal with a slide collection of vacation pictures taken by my father, who was an avid amateur photographer and who had passed away many years earlier.
For this project I decided to seek out the (few) images he had taken of my mother, after their two daughters left the house. Since I have never had the opportunity to show my own photographic work at the Nederlands Fotomuseum when it was still at this address, I decided to pay tribute to my parents by documenting a fictitious exhibition at this very location of photographs of my mother taken by my father.
I am a photographic artist who works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and in New York, USA
