It's a rainy day and everyone is concerned and that children are starting to get really bored (and all that goes with tedium). This is a moment perfect to break some games. We have collected some old favorites and added a couple of nice new people.

Some of the classic strategy game still playing Battleship, Scrabble, Twister, Operation Kids (young, old, but still take advantage of May), Clue, Monopoly, Sorry and Yahtzee. Some of my favorites, but many more classics that can be added.

I like playing Monopoly with the kids. Money Management is a new concept for some. There are some other recent games, but the monopoly stood the test time. And you can actually have fun while learning the best lessons children learned to play money.

The battleship is just fun for the most strategic minds and those who prefer a cons. It is a great way to spend some time with each child and maybe even your partner.

A game a little more recent that always goes well (especially during the holiday season in our house) is Connect Four. Similar to tic-tic toc, is easy for youngsters, but adults can have as much fun.

Mexican Train is a domino-based game and can provide a couple of hours Reflexive competence (especially among brothers and sisters). You can buy the game at Amazon or check with your local Toys-R-Us.

Another favorite that goes well with children elderly is Othello. A game of strategy and calm the mind. This game is very similar to chess in that you must think several moves ahead to outwit your opponent.

Ticket to Ride has become one of my favorites. You can play with up to six players and possibly generate some friendly competition. You can have a grand strategy or just play with the social aspect.

Remember to use those boring rainy days or nights to pull a game. You may be pleasantly surprised by the reaction of their children. Sometimes just spending some time together, make memories for a lifetime.
